Observing elections to improve democracy
A team of six observers returned to New York and Virginia in 2014 to learn about the electoral process. The election which the team observed saw the narrow victory of incumbent Democratic Senator, Mark Warner, to the Senate.
The team were also welcomed by staff and students at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia where they discussed issues about the US electoral system and how elections differ from those in the UK.
(Thanks to Professors Ron Rapoport and Jaime Settle of William and Mary college for their support in organising this visit.)
