In 2012, we deployed a team of two observers to oversee the elections in Scotland. This was set of all-up elections in Scotland so the team worked across the council areas in the South of Scotland and the central belt (Dumfries and Galloway, South Lanarkshire and Glasgow). This was followed by observing the counting of votes at the Glasgow count the following day.
This election was of particular interest as it was conducted under the Single Transferable Vote (STV) system which works proportionately. The counting was conducted by a so-called eCounting system.
